Operating Room AssistantIn the operating room, timeliness, cleanliness, and orderliness are essential. Here, you will realize your potential while helping to fulfill the Legacy mission of making life better for others.This opportunity is located at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland, a facility known for its exceptional specialty programs and clinical excellence. Legacy Good Samaritan is home to nationally recognized physicians in cancer care, kidney transplantation, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss and robotic surgery, rehabilitation, and more. It also features Oregon's only 24-hour urgent care located alongside an emergency room, providing patients with direct access to emergency services when needed.ResponsibilitiesSupport nursing staff as part of the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.Transport blood, specimens, and other materials within Surgical Services.Perform housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness in operating rooms and surrounding areas.Stock supplies and maintain overall orderliness of assigned department spaces.Assist with patient transportation as needed.Complete additional errands and support tasks as assigned to facilitate smooth departmental operations.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.One year previous medical experience in an acute care setting preferred. This could include experience as a Surgical Services Aide, OR Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, central sterile tech, or other medical experience.Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English and perform basic computations. Medical terminology desirable.Must be able to work well with other team members.Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.Must be able to quickly perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.Must be willing and able to work alternate shifts (including weekends) and overtime to meet the demands and needs of patient care and the department.LicensureCurrent BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.CNA or other clinical/surgical certification preferred.Pay RangeUSD $20.07 - USD $27.18 /Hr.Our Commitment to Health and Equal OpportunityOur Legacy is good for health for Our People, Our Patients, Our Communities, Our World.
